dragon paint

provides tutorials for the beginning artist, as well as the experienced ones. a huuuuge collection of tutorials, that by themselves individually, are very detailed with plenty of visuals to help you follow along. to prevent a long ass description of every weeny tutorial, let's assume, because it does, that the basic foundations that deal with the human body and all that it entails are covered. with that aside now, there's info on different ways to color (soft, cel, markers) as well as some interesting lessons that can teach you how to draw skin based wings, fairy wings, feathered wings, dragons, claws and talons, and gryphons! there are also more tutorials that cover various photoshop methods. this site will definitely keep you busy for a very long time.

---

baka neko: anime drawing tutorials

a plethora of tutorials on the male figure and it's muscles, the female figure and complex poses, certain styles like the chibi or the adolescent body, the head and it's facial features (both male and female), computer coloring lineart, cleanup, cel style shading, soft shading, special fx, and a rather interesting lesson on 3d maya. and an archive of practice files that you can color and experiment with. nearly everything is very easy to follow, and is definitely worth the look-through.

---

art studio chalkboard

very deep coverage over linear and atmospheric perspective, as well as studies over values (shading). this site is a great reference for those who are trying to create complicated backdrops/backgrounds. definitely the place to go if you're not sure of what you're doing or if you're in a serious bind. i recommend you bookmark this one.

---

photoshop tutorials by stephanie d. lostimolo

this is a small tutorial section of an art section that belongs to an incredibly talented artist, stephanie d. lostimolo. she covers coloring your drawings, creating highlights and magic effects, as well as jewels and translucent objects. if you see her portfolio, you'll know you're gettin' very good tips from a very talented individual. wouldn't hurt you to check it out.

---

the art corner

extensive tutorials that cover various kinds of hair, folds, facial features, the *dun dun dun* hand (i know many of you don't like drawing them!!), inking prep, and cg. they also have a huge archive of sketches that you can download for coloring practices. mind you, there are some guidelines in regards to where credit is due and all that mofo.

- Rebecca Alzofon's tutorial on gesture drawing:
One of right-brained foundation of drawing (the left-brained one being proportions and anatomy): gesture drawing. IOW, stick figures. If you don't know this, forget about big anime eyes.
