deadline day

I did not finish yesterday like i had hoped - it took longer to scan and clean up the 64 or so drawings than i figured it would, but that tedious task is done. I managed to assemble two of the pages, and this morning i just need to dive in and finish the rest. Realistically, it will probably be about 4 or 5pm before i am uploading this stuff to Dark Horse.

Yes, i’m making the deadline here, but my original plan was to have today free to work on Wednesday’s comic. It’s been about a week since i really thought about chapter six and what i was doing next, so i’ll have to switch gears in a major way later this afternoon. Ugh.

You need a planner, my friend. Tim from CAD started using Time and Chaos and it’s done wonders for him.

    Here’s a link:

    I’d suggest trying it.

Don’t worry so much about working on chapter 6. I don’t know about everybody else, but i love DPD’s. They really take a new look at a character and show something I didn’t see before. Once you have everything sent in, just draw. It doesn’t even have to be a MT character. Just draw whatever comes to your head. Frankly, after all the pressure for the deadline, what comes to your head should be very interesting.

We look forward to seeing a new comic on Friday, but today you’ve done enough today.

Actually.. not DPD classics so much as the “Meanwhile” strips… the Kimiko “You’ve been a busy girl” strip is one of my top 20. As far as I’m concerned… you could have two story strips and one Meanwhile strip every week if that would help structure your time better.

I’ve not been able to see any of the classic romantic-comedy mangas in their original publications … are/were they released one chapter at a time? One page? Two? How does your style of release (3/wk) compare with fellow manga artists? Don’t answer til after Wednesday — we’re just distracting you.

And remember: There is no such thing as too much Ping :)

Yea i like the DPD’s too, so no worries all round nyo. On another note, Ping is good, but there is no such thing as too much Miho….and Kimiko….and Ping

Hang in there Fred! Any update at all from you works for me! Heck i just like to read these little blog bits daily!

Don’t worry too much, just do what YOU feel you need to do, not so much what the naggers, whiners, and complainers say you should do. As for me, i’ll just be glad to hold book 3 in my hands finally. So i say good job, you can do it!

i’ll join the growing concensus — megatokyo moment’s and dpd’s are great. and i really love hawk’s image. it’s nice to see his interpretation of the ping-ster (dovetailing with stu’s comments above).

I would gladly go without the “regular” comic for another week if it was furthering your work on the Endgames comics. Endgames has been my favorite part of the MT story and I greatly look forward to Book 3.

    Keep up the great work.

Yeah, Fred! If there’s an update, great! If there’s no update, great! To me, DPDs, SGDs, rants, forums and even waiting or not for the next strip are all part of Megatokyo. Yes, even the making of book 3.

We all know you’re doing your best!

SGD days are awesome, that’s the only reason I go to MT!

XP I like SGD days and I don’t mind them as much as the other members. Anything is, afterall, better than nothing.

awesome! i can’t believe you met your deadline…and i’m over here, worrying about U.S. Government finals….gahhh!!

    i’d say that you deserve to relax, but i’m not sure if you’d take my advice or not. ^^;;

    Merry Early Christmas!

hey, i personally think SGDs are hillarious, while DPDs show the character, wven if its in something they’d never wear, do, ect.
