a free and clear hell

ahhh…

Now, most people would not consider it relaxing to dive into several hours of packing and shipping after finishing some of the deadline stuff that had been hanging over their heads for the past month, but thats what i did last night, and will end up doing a lot today too. I really don’t mind being ‘busy’, it’s when you get to ’swamped’ to ‘Armageddoned’ that i start to mind a little.

Anyways, having book 3 done, and done in time to make all the deadlines (at least on my part :P) is a huge weight off my shoulders. I missed far more comics that i wanted to to get it done, and it took two days to get going again from a dead stop on chapter 6, but once i did it felt good. It should be just the normal hurdles from here on out, which is fine with me. No, there won’t be a week of kicking back and watching tv or playing games or anything like that, but i can stop and take a breath from time to time, which will be nice.

Today i have tons of errands to run, gotta help ship out packages, gotta do some work on the store (we had a problem with the store yesterday that had both sarah and i scrambling to make sure that the orders were correct. We check things pretty carefully, and have a good system, but it has some flaws that i’m really not gonna miss when we get the new software online at the end of the month.

I’ll probably sit down and write a MT rant today too, but we’ll see. Best case senario will be that i can go home later tonight and crash. That’d be nice. I haven’t done that in weeks. I wonder if i can remember how my TV works…

Congrats again on finishing book 3. You *deserve* a week off, I think :)

Yes, congrats on finishing the third book. I’m gonna buy it asap!

I wouldn’t mind if you did a weeks worth of DPD’s, as long as chapter six gets going again soon.

I’m so glad that you hit your deadline, I was getting worried ;P hehe.

I’d actually rather be “busy” then bored… I get bored easily, so.. hehe, I don’t normally sit there and do one for over an hour.. aside from reading manga and Megatokyo, of course. XD w00t.

    >.>; I wanna start a webcomic, but all I have is crappy old paint, and no scanner (which I am begging for).. so.. I’m screwed! YAY! ^^;;

anyways.. (this must be odd.. >.>;; you’re probably thinking “who’s this crazy insane-psycho lady posting on my journal for?”….yeah…)

I really apreciate you making megatokyo, and I’m really really imressed that you got noticed like this and got to make books and stuff, so.. that’s all I really wanted to say from the start, but got sidetracked like I am getting sidetracked now… ^^;; I’m a little silly, so I’ll just.. be quiet now…

    baaaaai baaaai!

Some days digging post holes and stringing barbed wire is an easier job than pushing my pencil around a blank piece of paper. Congratulations Fred! I can’t wait to see the next book.

Just wanted to let you know this, and didn’t know where else to put it–you posted a comic not too long ago that really touched my heart. It’s the one where Ping is pleading for the Zilla’s life and the guy she talked to won’t help him…and afterwards, Miho told her about how you can’t force other people’s choices…wow. That one just had me sitting in silence for about 10 minutes, taking it in. I am especially reminded of it at work (I work in a Vet hospital) when people decide to put a pet to sleep. Sometimes I just want to take their animal and try to cure it myself, when they won’t pay to have it treated. Well, that comic really brought tears to my eyes…but it also brought some comfort…really took away some of the guilt I was feeling. Thank you for your art–and please, take some time out for yourself. You really *do* deserve it. Happy Holidays!

Hey, congrats again on finishing book 3. I think that you should take a week off. Consider it a Christmas present from your fans. You should really take it into consideration. Till next time, cya.

Finally making a deadline is like a vast relief to not only the author or artist involved with something, but also with everyone else involved…and not to mention the rabid fans that would chase you down and smap you with a waffle iron if you didn’t get it done…^^;;;.

You need to take a rest. Piro can’t make super-duper Megatokyo strips if his brain goes ’splodie. So take care of yourself for once. Here’s hoping us poor Great Lakes people don’t get TOO snowed in…

How are you going to game if you can’t remember how to work the TV? *blinks innocently*

Oh, btw: Billy Tucci sends his thanks for your sympathies. ^.^v

  13. CeeKari says:

^_^ Hey…so this is how you comment. Sorry, took me awhile to find it. Just wanted to say Megatokyo is great, and I look forward to reading the other series you’re planning to work on. *nodnod* Your art is very good, too. I love the expressions ^_^

Unless you’re going to game or pull something out of your library — for Odin’s sake, stay away from the TV. Go *outside*. Watching broadcast or cable tv just tightens all the muscles in my body… its either wretchedly pathetical and brainkilling… or its full of noise that I *know* to be untrue or missing vital subtleties (e.g. here in Oregon, we’re having a mult-year severe drought… our news outlets just happily glam on about the “sunny days” … idiots).
    Watching TV makes me stupid

  15. Chris W says:

I agree with Vexx, stay away from the TV… Those things are idiocy incarnate. Myself, I haven’t really watched TV in some weeks now. I get my news fix from the Internet and from coworkers. The closest thing to a TV that I’d want would be one of those LCD TV/monitors and an ATi TV turner card just to record a show or two and maybe some news.

My recommendation: Get some exercise outside. Run a few miles (j/k). Trust me, breathing fresh air is a *good* thing. After some outside time (with the missus, of course), do something fun, just you and her. If you do dig the ‘mote from under the cushions of the couch, watch something that’ll make you and her laugh and cry together.
