I dont feel like i got enough drawings done yesterday, but at least i got some momentum going. Today i really have to crank out the drawings, and get a significant portion of them done, because i have to be scanning and putting this together by tomorrow afternoon or i’ll never make it. Well, i suppose i have tomorrow to finish the drawings, and i can devote monday to it, but still. I also have to deal with what mondays comic is gonna be… Hawk has offered to do a guest comic filler, and i have an idea for it, i just have to sit down and sketch it out, i’ll try to do that this morning. Ugh. Guess i better get cracking…

Well, my official Drop Dead day for book 3 is tuesday. I have to have Endagames: Disabled and uploaded to DarkHorse by then. I really have to say, i don’t think i’m gonna make it. I’ll try, but i really think this is going to take me longer to finish than that. I’m talking with hawk about helping me out with a guest comic on monday (I have an idea that might be fun for him to do) so that might save me monday, but im not sure if it will help me hit my tuesday deadline. I’m not whining, just grimacing - i tried really hard not to get shoved into this kind of situation, but despite everything i did here i am, up against the fucking wall again. At least readers aren’t suffering as much as they usually do when i have these problems, and thats at least some comfort.

Ok, i’ve had my whine for the day, need to get back to work. Maybe i’ll feel better once i get a little more done.

Ok, i have determined that it is impossible to give a synopsis of the first two books in less than 500 words. Absolutely friggin impossible. Well, to write a good synopsis, anyways. I squeeked by the freetalk boss, but only barely It feels good to have it done, it’s been hanging over my head for weeks.

The only thing I have left, aside from the Endgames stuff, is the copy for the back of the book, which i still need to work on. I hate writing stuff like this because you have to talk up your work, and I’m just not really good at that kinda thing.

Anyways, need to finish that up, need to go to the post office with all the APO and FPO orders (there are a lot of em, they HAVE to go out today) gotta work on a 4-koma strip of some sort, really need to write a rant for MT, and i have got to get the rest of the endgames short going. My drop dead date is the 14th, and that is commin’ up fast.

I know Megatokyo is like, popular and stuff, people dress up as cosplay characters, etc, but still, it’s really weird to see something like this on Ebay. I remember haphazardly scribbling that dress on Kimiko back when i was working on her design. I mean, she hasn’t even worn that outfit in the comic yet! Cute stuff, and it looks like it’s nicely made.

ok, that’s one milestone out of the way. All of the PSD files for the bulk of the book are done. The only PSD files i still have to do are the Endgames pages (9 total - 8 are comic, one is a splash page). Before i can turn over and go all out on that i have one last batch of things to finish up — those goddamn freetalk things for the book. -_-

I am about half done with ‘em, i just need to write the introduction stuff. Bleagh. This stuff is harder to write than you might think. Hardest of all? That text on the back cover. I have to come up with that too. I admit, i’ve been avoiding finishing it, but now i have no choice, i have got to finish it. Uguhruuu~

Okies, back to work.

Too busy scrapping this morning to post right now. I’ve got to get some store related stuff done this morning so i can turn over and work on book 3. Ugh. More later (and yes, this is a useless post). Oh, and here is the comic I almost wanted to post today. off to work, more later (and a Megatokyo rant too…)

God, what a disaster today has been so far, but i could see that commin a mile away. The weather here has been bizarre - first heavy fog in the morning, then torrential rains, then high winds - all we need now is snow. Sheesh. Sarah and i barely managed to get everything packed before the UPS guy came. Honestly, i really like helping with the shipping - this stuff is quite literally sent out by us, not some nameless warehouse somewhere.

I was beating my head on the desk trying to make the next MT script come together, and it’s not. I really need to spend a few more hours working on dialogue for the next batch of comics — trying to wing it the very night i have to draw it and publish it… Bleagh. That’s what leads to crappy comics, story problems, lack of cohesiveness, etc. I still didn’t want to do a DPD tho… then i remembered that i do have one other option - 4 koma ‘meanwhile’ strips!

like, doh. that’s what they are for. -_-

I think i’ll do 4 koma strips fro wed and fri, that will lighten the load a bit, maybe facilitate me being able to actually finish some things. Too bad sleep isn’t really an option for another week or so. ^^;;;

Urgh. Trying to decide if i should try to do a comic for tomorrow, or just plow forward with everything else i need to do. I drove home at 4am in some pretty horrid fog this morning, got a few hours sleep, had breakfast with my dad, got here and photographed the Copic marker sets that arrived the other day (I really need to get those online so people can buy em for christmas if they want em ^^;;) I tried to use the pics that Copic provides, but the pictures didn’t do the sets justice, so i re-photographed them. The Manga wallets are really nice, i have to say - real good selection of colors for drawing people.

It’s amazing how all the little things add up to make great big hairy monsters of things. I’m gonna help sarah with shipping today - she could really use my help. I still have to finish the damn freetalk writings and don’t even remind me of Endgames. At least i got another huge chunk of book stuff uploaded to DH last night. Tim should be happy.

Of course, that doesn’t help me decide if i should do a comic. I think i should do wednesdays comic and DPD friday. That’s what i think i’ll try for. Doing the comic is actually almost a relaxing hiatus from the rest of the whirlwind of things i need to do (when the scripting goes smoothly). I know that anyone reading this will say ‘just skip it! we can wait for comics!’ - i know, but it makes ME feel good to get comics done, and makes me feel crappy when i skip on them. Maybe i’m mental, i don’t know

Anyways, off to work. I can’t even remember what the word “boredom” means anymore. -_- Doesn’t change the fact that there’s nothing else i’d rather be doing. I like pain.

Y’know, i don’t wanna hear anything from Dom anymore about how wordy i can be. I just endured the horror of typing in the full text from two SGD strips in prep for book 3. Do you have any idea how painful an experience this has been? I try hard never to read SGD strips… to have to type it in, every last little word, to have to try not to miss the little subtleties…

agh. i think my head exploded. It’s 3am and i still have a few more hours of work left to do. Whee.

Well, that certainly took a lot longer than it should have. -_- Bleah. Well, it came out ok, so i shouldn’t complain too much.

Next think i have to do is finish all the random freetalk writing for the book. I have most of it done, i just need to finish the intro, and tweak the dead piro day intro. These are harder to write than you might think. It’s hard to be seemingly casual, yet say something profound in few words. Especially for a blabbermouth like me. The only non-endgames art i need to do is fix up one particular comic where the character drawings are WAY off, and MUST be fixed before i commit this to print.

I should probably eat something too. Microwaved coffee from two days ago has the consistancy of Tootsie Rolls, but i don’t know if that makes it food.
