unloading
Ugh. I know i should be looking forward to finally seeing Volume 3 today (how dumb is this? I haven’t even seen a copy yet.
but the sucky part is that before i can look at one i gotta help unload them from the truck delivering them today. Guu. Actually, that’s not even the part the bothers me, i’m more than happy to lug and haul things around. In fact, as i’ve said before, its one experience that I have being an owner creator that not all do, the lugging around and interaction with the merchandise itself as it finds it’s way to fans and readers. I’m not even slightly twonked about the fact that Seraphim and I are gonna spend the entire day (probably much into tomorrow too) packing up and getting pre-orders out the door as fast as we can. Today is gonna be a hugely busy day, but that’s ok.
No, what’s gonna suck is the layer of ice on the ground with several inches of snow on top that is still falling. We don’t have a truck dock so we have to manually move all this stuff in from where the truck will stop. It won’t be more than 12 feet or so, but still, it’s gonna suck (can’t roll a cart outside with it like this). Shoot me now.
Ah well, i can use the exercise

Could be worse, you could be like my best friend who has an internet business and has to ship panties out of his apartment. ;p
I know you’re quite busy, but if you get the chance. There’s a giftart here on fredart that I gave you a LOOONG time ago. (The one with Ruri dressed as CC Sakura.) Could you change the url on the link to http://www.seraphicvisions.net ? The link you currently have has been dead for years. ;p

I feel your pain Fred. It’s icky here in Battle Creek too. I have to walk two blocks from my bus stop to my house after school. It sucks. Then when my little sisters get home I have to walk all the way down there again. Though I think that you have it much worse.

I just got my copy of Vol.3 myself. :p
The fist thing I saw of it on the inside though… was Yuki telling me ‘Stop this is the back’
^-^ thanks for that Fred! The number of times I’ve done that now… I loose count… Oh well….
I especially like the ‘Endgames: Disabled’ short at the end! ^-^
well… Ja ne!

I got my copy of Vol. 3 at Hastings Books and Records last week. It looks great and I finished reading it over the weekend.
Now I am going to have to find my copies of book 1 and 2 to reread.

On shipping problems, we were testing out our new shipping system, and put in through a couple bogus shipments, with the address being out desks. Well, day or two later, we got rush shipments from UPS and FedEx, that were all slated to our desks. Minor goof on our part.

ahhh i love California…
February 9th, 2005 at 8:40 pm
Man… you’re all lucky, holding a copy of vol. 3 already… I have to wait until my orchestra holds a fundraiser at Barnes and Noble before my parents will let me… gao…
February 9th, 2005 at 11:22 pm
Kyuuuu…..I want a copy…*weep*
It was all drizzly in Akron today. I mean ALL day, so I totally understand weather blues. Not much worse than walking across campus in the pouring sleet…man, I sure picked a good day to forget my umbrella. x_X

Completely unrelated but I watched the 5th episode of ‘Air’ today.
It was so sad =/ I think I’m going to be moping all day now!
I’m glad I started watching it though. I never played the game before so this is all new to me. It’s really….different. I don’t know why I like it. It’s kinda hard to put a finger on it.
Tohno’s hair is cute though

(agrees fully with kelly regarding Air epi 5)
oh, and i am kinda new to megatokyo, and dont live in the US either, so unfortunately cant pick up the vols and have to rely on the web comics only. The cost of each volume becomes prohibitive when coupled with the shipping which nearly quadruples the cost. (*sigh*) wish kino carried ur work, and wish it snowed here too.
Any 3way you could add a shipping estimator juts like the zip based US version u have, for intl orders.

Actually, Kinokunia *does* carry megatokyo in many of its stores. i don’t know about Japan or every country, obviously, but i know there is a store in Singapore that has em, as well as some in Australia (and the ones here in the states).
Fact is, i have heard more feedback on people finding the book in other countries than i have here in the states

Hai!
I live in England and have m3y3 copy! It’s good to get the books I feel… That way you find out just how much of it you’ve completely forgotten about, and notice things you didn’t pick up on the first time round… or both…
Yes, good book! I still gotta find a copy of vol.1 tho… got 2 and 3 just not 1… Ahh well… I’ll get it eventually… ^-^
well, ja ne!

The Kinokuniya here in San Francisco doesn’t carry the MT books unfortunately. But the Borders downtown does. Of course, Japantown is the mecca of anime fandom here in SF, so it’s likely that the Kinokuniya is just sold out.

does it? how come i neve found it, i am a frequent visitor to kino, the singapore one that is…i wonder where they keep it.
great news for me

*Waves hand from England*
Good luck with the unloading.

I have book one. I got it a long time ago now. (I live in England soo…) I need money to buy the second and third.
I also want the flapdoozy bag…
…and that cute recycled heart t shirt.
Damnit my birthday is a long way away. I need a job that pays well. Working odd web design jobs does not pay enough ;_;
And now I’m just spamming uselessly =/ I should probably do something constructive.
Haha…yeah right.

ahhh i love florida…
hehe
I can’t wait to get my copy of vol 3.
I preordered mine from RightStuf when they had a discount on Dark Horse stuff; of course with RightStuf, I have more anime and less money
February 10th, 2005 at 10:07 pm
ep. 5 really is tragic… I’m also unfamiliar with the game but the series has been hypnotic so far… beautiful art.
*Still* no sign of MT3 locally in Portland, OR — though I see Fred has nicely packed and shipped my pre-order according to the magic UPS tracker.
Thanks!

Hi fred! I suggest snow boots, as we have the same problem and I have fallen nearly several tmes due to the slush turning into wave-like ice. They have vol3 here in Wisconsin now! Yay! Loved the comic at the end!! Psst, good luck with the ice! XD

Just noticed on the Air website that they are releasing the Vol.1 soon (and Vol.2 at end of April)… anyone seen it for sale anywhere???
February 11th, 2005 at 1:40 pm
Hello. I just started reading megatokyo recently. .. I finished all the pages you have online. I’m planning on getting the manga, now… Man, it must be cool to be making your own graphic novels.
How long does it take to finish clean up on one of your drawings?… on average?
February 11th, 2005 at 4:38 pm
WELL, the book was hard to find. I was going to try to get it in the mid week but could not find it anywhere, so today after getting out of school I called up to Barns and Noble and told them to get it for me. AND ITS FREE for them to get it for you, you just pay $9.95 like you would anywhere and go and pick it up. It takes a week to get there however. So here’s a nother way to get your copie if you are dieing to get one and it just cant be found anywhere.
SWEEETTT… Im getting MT Vol. 3 :p

Dude, (and I will say this later in posts)
You need to at some point hire a minimum wage assistant worker. Thus you will get to choose what you like to do more, and delegate the things you don’t like to the worker. It just might mean that when packing preorders, you and seraphim get some time off, while they keep chugging along. Im SURE you could find a loyal reader looking for a job.

that’s awesome that you do that kind of stuff yourselves, instead of someone else; although it gives you less time for yourselves, to do what you want… heh…
hope you didn’t die out in that ice….

I got my copies of volume 3…and my new copies of volume 1 & 2…I’ve got a bad habit of giving them away…I’m on my 3rd set now…^^;;…
I’m soo ready for cold to be over…I’m tired of making trash runs in the snow and muck at work…hehehe…but you know, our trash ‘barge’ cart deally we use would make an awesome sled…as it stand I always goof off and use it like a scooter when the weather is good…XD…but the only time I miss California is when I’m freezing my tail-end off when I’m walking home…
Anyways…it’s way too early in the morning and I need to stop rambling…Awesome job on Vol 3, Fred …And kudos to you and Sarah for working so hard on the preorders =) I know I, as well as many others, appreciate it =)

Patiently waiting for my copy of #3…though I’m very glad I didn’t have it sent to the ship, I’d probably be waiting about a month for it. -_-;
