new sketch: Meganeko Kimiko
Not really a very good sketch, but it is one of the more cute examples of Kimiko in her glasses. I debated whether to ever actually show her in glasses - at least, not for a while, but in some ways im trying to show us getting a litte more exposed to kimiko’s private thoughts, and as we do this we will see a little more of kimiko the way she is, not just the way Piro, and the public, percieve her. Lots of subtle stuff about perception and sight going on in Megatokyo, i’m just hoping that it comes together the way i envision it when all is said and done. It’s blurry enough as it is

Quite cute indeed! Hope to see more development soon!

Interesting, to say the least. Do I sense some megane-ko feelings resurfacing here, Fred? Anyhow, joking aside, I like it. There’s actually something beyond just the character you drew there; you’re getting a lot better at using your white-sapce with your single-shot character drawings. The items you decide to include (the book, the pillows and teddy) kind of convey the feeling you want the viewer to see almost as well (if not more than) Kimiko’s facial expression. I think that your more recent work has demonstrated a fair amount of growth, and I’m very happy to see it. As always, best regards.

Damn, I like it. More please when it fits the story.
I really felt as if Kimiko should take Piro shopping for new frames this chapter so the two could bond.
FYI - it takes about 6 hours for your average nerd to have a great looking Japanese lady (with a mother-hen mindset) to figure out where their relationship is going. It’s even faster if you have blue eyes …

PS 18th week. Now we’re shopping for HDV video camcorders …

Excellent drawing! It kinda lets us into Kimiko’s mind and it’s great to see a sketch as good as this.^__________^

I’ve noticed the perception part of the story for a bit now… It’s more obviouse in some strips than others; like the Piro’s and Lagro’s view of Tokyo strip, and the ones where Kimiko is chasing the drunk Largo (what Kimiko was saying wasn’t translated, because Largo couldn’t understand her) I got that straight away.
It’s a great picture! I only wish I could even just borrow a fraction of your skills (I have characters down, more or less, but backgrounds and props are still a no go for me…) But I’m sure you’ve heard that countless number of times before (I know, I’ve read them, and written some) n_n
In fact… Whatever I could say next, you’ve probably allready heard, but I have nothing but praise for you!

It’s really good. It lets me see a different side of her, other than the stressed-happy side! Really gets your ideas across. Spiffay!

Hehehe… I’ve been reading your manga for a long time, especially MEGATOKYO and yea, I get what you’re trying to say, and I wish I can draw as great as you do because if I did, well, I’d be great! Keep up the geat work! (I’d make a smiley, but I’m not even skilled at that)

There is definitely something I don’t see from Piro’s or anyone else’s perspective when Kimiko retreats to her personal space like in that sketch. I really like the atmosphere that you placed her in also. Though I love megane-ko, something about the glasses didn’t look fully right on her, in my opinion.
It doesn’t matter, since there is still more development you are doing with the story to make it come together. I’m sure her chosen style of glasses will grow on me in no time.
Thank you for sharing this sketch ^^

I also much love the non-public insights you give into the characters. Very very nice.
I’m heavily impressed with this one.
You are very good at drawing in such a way that the emotions come out. I like that.
