mou~~~

mou~~ what is with me today? For some reason i can’t even get this comic to come together! >_< I can’t complain about specific problems because it gives too much away >_< (beats head on table, would give a lot today for some clever inspiration (sigh))

The problem with writing is, i think, that you just know when there’s something there staring you in the face that is just waiting for you to find it, to follow thru on the sequencing of ideas and thoughts that will lead to story scenes, sequencing and dialogue that will be enjoyable from an experiential point of view (the reader) and satisfying for the writer (the guy who likes to mess with the reader’s minds). It’s very frustrating when you can’t find it, or it’s just not coming for you. You KNOW when its not right. I can’t even start drawing this comic till i find it.

(sigh)

Keep in mind that everytime you feel your mind is being played with by the Megatokyo story, that the story itself has thrown down with me and given me a mega beatdown. That could explain some of my neurotic writing :)

    Ganbatte, Piro-kun!

It may take a bit, but the results are always worth the wait!

I know I’m looking forward to the next installment, and I’m enjoying the current storyline immensely!

I prefer lookin’ at other people’s art for inspiration.
http://www.deviantart.com is always a good place.

Do some doodles or something. That seems to get me in “da mood” XD

Good luck! Naturally, I’m quite excited to see what will happen next–nothing you haven’t heard before. (Nor much different than what I’ve said before, either.) But good luck anyway.

Writing… It has always been a hard thing for me. I am not creative at all. Give me a blank page and all I can come up with is “Polar bear in snow-storm” but ask me to solve a problem and I am all over it.
I am an engineer through and through…

When it comes to the story of MegaTokyo I was under the impression from some very old rants from our Friend Fred that the story was pre-written at least a story line at a time or maybe even a chapter at a time.
If it is written on an ad-hoc basis I don’t understand fully why it it is so difficult for sure…
Well, all we can hope for is that noone got hurt, Piro doesn’t get nosebleed from seeing Miho and Yuki get out of the mess of legs and short skirts…

With hopes they all have a fine weekend,
    /Lindus

I suppose that there are some times when serene weather, and crazy-good momentum don’t help…
It must be hard to find your “zone,” when your zone seems to grow legs and walk away…
Just gunna have to chase it down, huh? Good luck, Fred…

hello! sorry the comic isnt going so well today. i was looking forward to it… waaaa! :( oh well//

good luck, and if u need inspiration… turn to your fans, or the forums if you cant find a good direction to turn the plot to…

fans are wonderful, i’d have shut down my project if it werent for people who would track me down and shoot me if i did… but really i love my fans, who doesnt love fans, except for the creepy ones… eep…! but i’d never want a huge community like mt has, partly because i like being able to talk to my HARDCORE fans and sometimes to the not so hardcore… i do weird crap they ask me to like add them into my comic… they appriciate it sooo much its scary… i like to know my fans, i like to understand them, anyway…

    FANS R GOOD… :P
    …ugh, second wind coming…

how many fans do you actually email? i try to email about 30 times a week… it makes em happy… how many do you email…? hmm?!?!?!?!!!! few, no doubt… yer community is toooo big, so scary…!… yet here on fred art you have 15 comments a day… so few for such a popular artist…

heh, i need to tell you about how i first came across mt… its a creepy story for another time tho…

too much for poor fredrin to read…

so, i say bai bai now!

I’d rather wait for a quality comic than settle for some messily-made comic.

Take you time, and, er, believe in yourself?

If could, i would serve some small treat for the author :D Be it biscuits, a cup of coo or tea [i don't know his tastes... wait wait wait... coffee, yes, i remember now xD]

A box of buiscuits for Piro-Fred~!

  16. Vexx Says:

Hey, Fred … been a while (for me).

My guess is that you’re having an internal argument with your characters — they want to go one way and it doesn’t match your preconceived strategic story arc. Or to put it another way, they’re evolving in directions that diverge from your original scheme.

I’m assuming you still want to wrap MT up at some point (which may mean some beatings for your mutinous characters) but for the purposes of the “slice of life” story, I’d say let your characters do what makes the most sense from what they know at that moment — even if that means you may have to rethink the endgame.

If you’re watching Shuffle! , you know that eps 19,20 were the rage and when 21 hit the fanbase was massively WTF?
Apparently the group for those two eps took the characters in what most of us think were their natural directions… but it wasn’t what the overall series writer had plotted so the gear change in ep 21 was pretty jarring (and a letdown for many). This was sad because the ending could have easily stayed within the plan while permitting the characters to “follow their instincts”.

Try not to force the characters where they don’t want to go :)

Hi! First time caller, two month reader.
My sister hardwired a connection to MT for me last Christmas. I’ve been reading from start to finish over the last 2 months. The story is very organic in a subcultural way. Gamers, fans, talented people, people who wish they where talented. People who just wish. When I am stumped, (plumbing problems, math, etc.) and I haven’t time to be distracted, I work on a related project. My subconcious usually deals with it, and presents the solution fairly quickly. The organic computer has rules. Ya can’t push.

    I’m a wisher. You’re talented. YEAH TALENTED!!
