new sketch: Roam : Kyuri
his is really just one of those experimental sketches that came together one night while sitting in front of the tv randomly sketching. As a whole it’s not the best drawing ive ever done, but it is an exersize in that random sketchyness i tend to use to add density to a drawing and its background. What’s this from? It’s a story idea i had some time back that there’s no real point in explaining unless i ever do it someday
You can chalk it down to just random fred strangeness.

Excellent job on Nanasawa’s dress in strip #811. Very cute! Original design, AFAICT. Keep it up–it really suits her personality, and reminds me a little of the MT Theatre short that was inspired by Haibane Renmei. ^_^

I’m not trying to sound like a smartass, but in your little ’signature’ you seem to have forgotten that it’s 2006. The copyrigbt says 2006, but your ’signature’ does not… ^^;

The girl in that new sketch resembles Miho(goth gamer girl from MT) to me. Is this intentional or coincidental? Oh well. Nice sketch though!

Nightmorph - It is posible that he did originally draw it in ‘05…maybe~ :p

This sketch sort of reminds me of the ending to Rozen Maiden: Träumend…
But that’s probably mostly because I had just finished watching the latest episode before seeing this…
It’s a good sketch though! n_n
I like it! Keep up the good work, and if you do ever get around to actualy making this story, or any of you’re other story ideas, I’m sure I’ll like it!

A little Miho inspired? Really nice. It is a “very” rough sketch but for being done with a ball point pen I doubt I could have done such a good one. Awesome!

Wow… even when you do rough sketches it turns out great.
How did you learn to draw so awsome?

It looks great. My sketches never look like that awesome one you’ve drawed. Maybe I should draw some more with a rollerball…

Wow, line overkill. Kind of hard to distinguish some areas, but hey, that’s what exercises are for.
Mind telling me what this “Roam” is? I can’t tell if this is a fanwork or an original piece.

I’m going to assume her name is Kyuri. Anyway, I really like the outfit chosen for her, albeit sketchy while still keeping a fantasy feel. I’ve noticed that the expressions you give your random sketches always have some sort of mystery behind their gaze, as if they are saying “try and figure me out” but knowing that no one ever will. The background is an interesting setting also. With the way Kyuri is clothed, it certainly leaves much to the imagination of where she is, or where she may be going. Not to mention, a huge guess as to what that story idea of yours was.
Always happy to see a new sketch, Fred-san. And, as usual, still enjoying the goodness that is MT ^^ Take care, and stay healthy.

nice work. i’ve always liked your particuar drawing style, and this sketch is nice example of it, even though this drawing is pretty “sketchy”. it has alot of depth.
oh, it’s a really good drawing on the MT site, so i enjoyed Y A N R D P D. ;P
it was really nice being able to get everything on time last week. keep it up the good work!

Wow, she’s a rather busty gal. I love the dress! Fred-Manga artist and aspiring Fashion designer? Who knows?

Looking at all the sketchiness makes me think of those amazing pictures you occasionally see that have been done with an etch-a-sketch (or otherwise are done without lifting the implement from the page and are thus all one line). As it is, this is so dense, it’s probably not possible to tell whether it’s all one line merely by looking at it. Regardless, I find the style has a certain charm (tho it’s unlikely to ever be CG’d!)
