姫ちゃんのupdate
Yeee… part of the reason i keep my trap shut about stuff like this is the flood of well wishing emails
Thank you for all your support and kind words regarding my cat and her condition. As such, i figure i should post an update - she’s home, she’s fine, tho the stitches are as scary looking as stitches always are.
There’s good reason to believe it was benign, and we’ll know in about a week. I can now admit that the thing that worried me the most was the anesthesia - if you know anything about anesthesia at all, you know it can be some serious stuff, and even tho there really wasn’t anything to worry about, the effects of anesthesia on a high strung little animal like my pet was just… me being a worry wart.
So, in the end, the best will be that i worried for nothing and i blew a comic for nothing.
I’ll take you folks being irritated with me to have a happy cat

Reminds me of my grandma’s cat… when the cat got cancer. *Sniff*
Glad your cat is fine… even with scary marks all over it.

Yay! Your kitty is okay! Glad to hear it. I’m very fond of all cats, even ones I’ve never met(luckily, it seems to be mutual. every cat I’ve ever met has liked me). When I hear about something unfortunate happens to kitties, I get upset. When I get upset I either tear up or get violent. But since your kitty is okay, I don’t have to fly cross-country to kill the vet!

Glad to hear your kitty’s doing fine! I’ve had a couple of cats in surgery too, and i know that it’s not a nice experience. We have a great vet tho

Some family friends’s cat had to have a tooth removed, and they gave him anesthesia for it. Turns out they gave him too much, and he went blind from it. And that’s not the worst of it: his health went straight downhill from there, not eating, not grooming, and so on, and he sadly had to be put down. So I understand your worry about anesthesia for your cat. The amounts required are so precise for such small creatures, it’s a wonder they use it at all.

That’s sad.
My cat died of an injection site sarcoma a few weeks ago–we had to put him down when the sacroma metastisized to his kidneys and gave him overt renal failure–sending him into seizures.
…
Not that he didn’t waste away to nothing before that happened.
My vet really didn’t have any real answers about this except that there may have been batches of vaccine contaminated witha sarcoma virus and that the sarcoma strangely started where he had been getting his shots.
It’s sort of depressing watching an otherwise healthy 14 year old cat waste away to nothing in a few weeks…

Glad to hear your kittycat is doing well. : )

I think your cat’s health and such is a very good reason to miss a comic. I know I’d be freaking out if one of my cats suddenly had to have surgery. I’m glad all is ok

So now that every things fine you’ll tell us when the next MT comic is due, right?
The update percent thingy still says the comic is happening on monday, which it definatly isn’t.

I’m so glad your cat is okay! I know I completely fall to peices if anything is wrong with my kittens. If they’re upset because they can’t reach their ball because it rolled in the closet, anything.
They’re terribly, terribly spoiled. <3 I’m so glad to hear that everything went well.

Don’t sweat it Fred, We all worry about our pets as if they are children. I can remember one time seeing a humorous quote about cats on a sign at a cat show. “Cats are like children in small fur coats”

Don’t worry, as a proud cat owner/lap, I understand wanting to make sure your family is all right. I’m a patient person, I can wait for comics!

Piro, some things are just more important than a comic schedule. Pets and family members fall under that category. Speaking as someone who has lost well-loved pets before and a writer to boot, I understand how worry an make you unable to be creative. Lord knows I’ve been there.
You take your time, do what you have to do. You’ll always have at least one loyal reader, delays and all.
And thank goodness you’re kitty’s doing all right! I hope it all turns out benign and okay!

Fred,
Just a note about the Megatokyo RSS feed: The entry for Comic 821 still points to Comic 820 (the DPD).
Just letting you know ^_^ Keep up the good work!

PS. Thanks for pointing me towards Rozen Maiden Traumend and Magikano; great stuff.

Glad to hear things are ok with the cats…my wife and I are pet owners as well, so we know how stressful that can be when things go wrong. Thanks also for your anime reccomends! Great stuff. Your reviews of other anime and manga are always spot on…
