ok, without question, Karin ep 14 is my fave so far. Karin is a great show, but i’m loving the attention given to Maki, Karin’s friend, in this one. You just want to hug the girl sometimes.
That and i can’t help but laughing at Boogie-kun.
Karin has turned into an example of one of my favorite kinds of anime - the kind where you find yourself really interested in a secondary character, and throughout the course of it you find that character actually getting just enough attention and development to make you happy. Ruri in Nadesico is the classic example of this, and there are others, but its nice to see it develop so well in Karin too. At least for me
(some info and screenshots on ep 11-12. No one seems to have blogged ep 14 yet
In other news, if you recall recently i had to take Hime in for the removal of a possible injection site sarcoma. The good news is that it it was a lipoma, which is benin and not cancer at all
Given where it was, they were very concerned that it was a injection site sarcoma, but thankfully it wasn’t. The upshot is, she’s fine, even if she does have a 5″ scar across her back (which is scarier looking than it is scary). ;_; She’s doing fine.
A few interesting things going on this weekend, gotta get working on a MT rant. Whee

Anime w00t! ^_^ Very glad Hime is okay
Rock on Fred!
I work as a veterinary technician and I thought I’d post this as something to consider:
Injection site sarcomas are not a new thing, vets have known about them for years. It concerns me that you say the scar was across her back. They should not have given her the vaccine on the main part of her body. If a reaction that turned into sarcoma had occured, nothing could’ve been done.
Your veterinarian should have the protocol in which they inject a vaccination as low as possible on a cat’s leg. This way, if a sarcoma does develop an amputation can be performed and your cat’s life won’t be forfeit.
Second, there are vaccinations available out there now that are specially formulated for cats in an effort to reduce the likelyhood of injection site sarcomas. They are more expensive but your vet should have offered them and explained why.
In short, I would consider getting a different veterinarian.
I’m quite surprised that the creator of Tohya Miho has nothing to say about the performance of Anju… speaking of cut3 0n3s to be ph34r3d, she seems second to nobody ^____^
Sydney,
actually, Hime was a rescued cat - we dont know her full medical history. The vet we use always gives shots in the lower leg just as you suggest. The reason they were so worried about this was because of where it was - and we didnt know if she had ever got a shot there or not.
The scar im refering to is the insision the doc made to extract the lympoma. They make a wide excision to make sure they get all of it, in case it was a sarcoma.
Dont worry, this clinic knows what they are doing
Glad Hime is doing well. *whishs Hime well*
I’m happy to hear your kitty is okay! ^___^. also I read your megatokyo update and congrats on the Dc comics transfer! ^_^ I’m so excited about the news comics coming out, I loved the “Circuity” ones, thats so awesome that they’ll be in the next book. I’m sorry this was off topic to this particular post, i was just so happy i had to thank you for the post. ^___^. it made my day.
cat: interesting, i have no idea where our cat gets her shots.. I shall ask (also a rescued cat.. in that she was dumped on our property).
Karin: Karin is fun to watch in her ditzy way but yeah, Maki is actually the most enjoyable character on the show (Anju and her familiars in close second). So far the show has been very well constructed …. hope they don’t goof it at the climax like too many romances fall prey to.
comic->DC: of course the most pressing question amongst obsessive compulsives is whether they’ll keep the same dimensions of the books.
Actually… I might rebuy the whole thing if you went to an 8×10 format with higher resolution (lots of the details in your stuff get lost at “manga size”)… .
;_; ‘We Suck’ only released Karin 14 a little while ago. (downloads it)
I just finished watching Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, its a short little series (6 episodes) with a happy/sad ending to it. It a very good series, that would make a very nice movie in my opion. I enjoyed it very much. ^_^
Good to hear that Hime is doing well, and will be back to chewing on cables shortly. =^,^=
Glad to hear it was benign. We lost our boy Henry to a sarcoma in November. It still hurts to think about it. Alan
Hey Fred,
Glad to hear that Hime is OK!
I’m also glad to hear the news about the DC/CMX deal. I hope they treat you well!
My best to Hime and her humans. As always, I’m very happy to hear of a cat’s good fortune.
And–W007! D00D!–congratulations on the DC/CMX deal. You have now officially moved from the Big Time to the Really Big Time. (And major props for the cover of Volume 4. ‘Bout time that Seraphim gets to be a cover girl. Er, angel. CEA operative. Whichever.)
Of course, I’m happiest that Boo makes the cover too. Go Boo!
Yay! The kitty is okay! It’s so depressing when bad things happen to cats.
I’m glad vol. 4 is coming out soon. I’ve been waiting for it!
Very, very glad to hear about your k33t00m. I have three of them myself and the eldest gets to go in for bloodwork in about twenty minutes. Let’s hope all the vet finds is no need to adjust her thyroid meds.
Monster congrats on the DC/CMX affair. I couldn’t help but notice that Herr Kurtz of PvPOnline was the first to offer his own w00t in the comments. ^.^ I must say, that is a verrah spiffy cover for #4 and I look forward to it gracing my shelf.
firstly, glad to hear that Hime is doing well!!

I read the online interview about you moving megatokyo to DC comics. I don’t really know the benefits of this, but whatever gets megatokyo out is great, because i just want to have it! (Great doujinshi, megatokyo)..
Can’t wait for thicker-than-ever book 4!!!
While I was reading the interview, I was thinking about how I hoped it would fit well with the previous books, 1-3, and then there you said it! Same size, shape, look, feel, but thicker! Yay!
Keep it up till the end!
You rock for thinking of us silly book obsessed folk. My library must be complete, but it cannot be filled with any old trash and I hate it when my sets aren’t sets at all. The hours I spend trying to find just the right edition of a book borders on the insane. I care about quality of paper, size, weight, and everything else. Thank you so much for thinking to make sure the rest of megatokyo will be as neat as the first three!
Karin: I like how Maki noted that Karin’s boobies were getting bigger. Though, it isn’t apparent in the anime (it’s more apparent in the manga, recalling the snips of it I’ve seen so far.) I love the names for the mice too. As for blogging, I’m opening one up soon, though it won’t be doing much til April when the next season of anime starts up.
Hime: Glad to hear the cat will live another day. Must have at least seven more lives left. =P Well, if I see a cat with a huge scar across it’s neck in MT, we’ll all know that’s Hime.
CMX: I won’t iterate my feelings on this, since it’s in the CMX thread in the SD forum. I hope things work out well though with Superman and Batman.
awsome man good thing the cats alright dont want a sad artist actually that would make me sad too.. really but thats all over with an done ^^
MT rant.. *snicker* well you got to much to do really… an like others say Rock on Man!
As a veterinary student intersted in feline medicine, I was really worried to hear about Hime. It’s good to know tha she is doing well, and that your vet knows what they are doing with regards to vaccinations and dealing with sarcomas. Sounds like you’re with the right vet to me. >^..^<
