three quarters thru
Looking back on last week, the weekend, and the way this week has shaped up, all i can say is it would have turned into two weeks of no comic anyway ^^;; So, in a way, facing up to the reality of things and not leaving you folks hanging really was the better approach in the long run. I really appreciate your patience and your tolerance of my two week in-service ‘vacation’ ^^;;
The trip to Seattle went well - Seattle is always fun, the people are wonderful, and it’s always nice to see some of our friends out there. There were a few glitches, of course - the biggest one was finding out that the Megatokyo panel was scheduled for 8:30 in the morning on Saturday…. who the hell is going to go to a 8:30am panel on saturday morning at a con? I was pleasantly surprised that quite a few did.
For those of you who made that early panel, thank you - i’m not worthy of that kind of dedication. Hell, i barely made it to the thing myself.
Also, It was great to see Tycho and Gabe again, and i really appreciate them coming in towards the end of our panel and us having an impromptu joint panel for a while - something that is always fun.
Processing is moving along, as well as other projects - i’ve also been trying to get some things done for the store so we will have a new line of products ready to go for upcoming conventions. Yesterday i wasn’t feeling well, so i really didn’t get enough done, so hopefully today i can get back on schedule. Still feeling a little off, hoping this nice weather we’re having will help.
On top of all of this, i have been having to restrain my inner fanboy from going nutso - while i was in seattle it was announced that Kyoto Animation would doing its own version of the Kanon anime. Few things in my fanboy world could make me happier. In fact, when watching Kyoto Animation’s “AIR” tv the one thing i wished was that these folks would revisit the Kanon series and do it proper justice. I’m bowled over by the fact that this will indeed be happening. I’m sure there are plenty of people who don’t care and think it’s a waste, but whatever. I’m sure there are plenty of keyfans like myself who are grinning ear to ear over this news.
Maybe i’ll be able to finish this book before the first episode comes out… one can only hope.

No sweat with the wait, MT is always worth it.

Grin even more, it’s breaking the KyoAni tradition and is going to last for 24 episodes.

I know, and im just gritting my teeth because i have no time to rant about it. grrr. Ah well, plenty of time to make sure people know they must watch it.
March 30th, 2006 at 1:31 pm
We know you’ll be ranting when it airs.

More thieves of your time appear Fred. Flee! Don’t fall for the premium trading cards… or wait… a new 24 episode series… just imagine the new figures coming out.
On a lighter note, have you been enjoying Fate/stay Night?
March 30th, 2006 at 2:22 pm
More Kanon? Thats awesome! I haven’t played the game but I enjoyed the previous anime very much. I’ll have to see how long I can hold out before shifting into complete fanboy mode.

I, too, enjoyed the Kanon series but was disappointed with the rushed nature of the original anime and the fairly iffy animation. Seeing it “AIR-ized” would be very cool. I get the impression they’re not using the original audio track but are actually re-recording it (new dialog, new music)? This should prove interesting since the rabid fan base is likely to have spurting aneuryms if any particular favorite scenes are left out.
Sidenotes: enjoying the hell out of REC, Kashimashi, Canvas 2, and Magikano (though Canvas 2 seems to have a last episode plot trainwreck and Magikano pulled a season ending annoying close out). Still waiting for the last two subs of Canvas 2 before I actually get annoyed though.

No Fate/stay Night vexx? Watch it… you’ll like Rin.
March 30th, 2006 at 3:05 pm
Tried to watch it…. the characters are cute and yes, I like Rin … but the storyline itself has my eyes rolling back in my head — I dropped it after ep4 — if you could recommend a specific episode that would change my mind, feel free to point.
Everyone just seems so excited about it … but then there are other series that “everyone” gets excited about that have me saying “hmmm, what?”

yay! more Kanon!!
hmm… redone, the first was.. okay, i liked it. now just to see how this turns out. 24 episodes!!!
cant wait.

OH goodness vexx!!! It really picked up after episode 6.. but you’ll probably like it more from episode 9 on. 11 and 12 have been really action oriented. And episode 13 is more centered around Ilya.

kay… I’ll download ep9 and take a look.
I’m actually “torrent free” today…. all the subs I’m watching are stalled to some extent.

I was only able to watch a few of the beginning episodes to the “Air” anime, but I liked it. So I look forward to seeing this new Kanon show though I regret to say I’ve seen naught of the first one.
It was nice to meet you, Fred! Hope to catch you at future Sakura Cons! I’m going to frame my Kimiko sketch. ^_^ Glad you liked the Makoto (right name?) deck box.

My friends got to see you at the con. They told me that they fed you animal crackers. If I would’ve known they were going I would have given them my books to get signed. Oh well, hopefully I’ll get them signed next year ^_^

(About Ping DPD)
Wow. I really love it. I’ll have to think on why it stikes me the way it does, but it’s a deep part of my mind/heart. ;-; I only wish I weren’t poor so I could win the Ebay auction for it, but I’m sure the bids will rocket out of my range very quickly. ^^

yes kanon is very good as so is air very excellent recomend every one watches it especially if uv ever played the game, onto more serious matters i think freds latest drawing for megatokyo is quite possibly the best piece of work he has yet to do
weve all seen his sad girl faces, dont get me wrong i love almost every piece that fred has done, but the fact that u still seem to get that sad feeling when u look at this picture without even seeing the girls face to me is unbelievable.
i just love that picture
ohh well

Today’s strip (03apr06) …
Last four frames: cutest… Kimiko… evar….
and Piro got to be a hero…. hopefully the fanmob treats like a live-action romance anime scene and just zones out in their drool
April 4th, 2006 at 12:21 am
mhm. that would be my hope as well. i’m a huge supporter for piroXkimiko, so i would rather the otakus stay away from her for the most part. Piro should get her attention mainly. I wonder what she’ll say to him? she looks so surprised..
