Tomoyo-chan!
I don’t really deserve it (not after the rather dismal performance that resulted in monday’s comic) but my Hobby Link Japan box came yesterday containing my 1/8 scale Tomoyo figure.
these PVC figures are really nice, the detail is wonderful, and the quality is surprisingly good. In the old days, getting any kind of figure required mad modeling skills and expensive garage kits that only a real expert could put together well. Sure, killer garage kits are still the hight of models, but these pre-assembled and painted PVC models let the rest of us enjoy them too. Im just hoping getting this one doesnt lead down a slippery slope… that’s all.
Monday’s comic really did not come off well, in fact i’m looking at adding a panel and finishing some things to make it look better. I was really sick yesterday, which so did not help. Probably just worn out. The backgrounds needed to be better, and the action was just not there like i wanted (tho panel 3 came out good). Even so i think it got the idea across.
Comic for today is underway, and hopefully i’ll finish in time for tonight (but you know my track record). I spent a chunk of today running around dealing with the color proof for the book 4 cover. Whee

I’m impressed with this last page you added. Though one thing I did sorta notice was when Largo swung his sword… It shows in the next pic it was run through. Seemed abit…. quick.
Plz,
Your work is great. Later!

I really love the Endgames storyline. I do have to agree that the most recent page felt a little empty, though. There’s nothing wrong with it, but a little embellishing couldn’t hurt.

To tell you the truth, I am not at all disapointed with the last couple of comics at all, especially the last one. I rather enjoyed the more rough “sketch” style as it seemed more frantic and added to the mystique of a memory being recalled in the fragmented mind of the character Largo. I think it adds to the story line just as it is, and am excited to see a bit more of the history behind Miho and the other characters.
This End Games phase is something I have been waiting on for the past few years, and am anticipating seeing how the story turns out.

All it takes is one and you’re doomed I suspect… I started out with one 12″ resin Motoko (Love Hina). That was going to be it.
Now my office has several little shrines for Tsukuyomi Moon Phase, Negima, Shuffle! (kind of regretting that), and a couple of random homages to specific characters from series that just seemed appealing.
Sadly, I suspect that I’ll be creating a new shelf for Suzumiya Haruhi …. it’d be nice to see Kyon and Itsuki figures along with Suzumiya, Yuki, and Mikuru.

I think that the comic came across just as it was suposed to. I got the point and I think that the actions were suprising and very good. Plus the expressions on (Miho’s) face were priseless when she was run through.
Great Job Fred, keep it up, and I hope you got my e-mail at your Piro@megatokyo.com e-mail acount.

today’s comic 855 rates a few extra cookies - the frame sequence and camera angling is clear and focused on the important bits.
wondering how few people will “get” her morose look in the last frame since it requires minor understanding of complex feelings…

Love comic 855. That look in pannel 9… just wow. Though I don’t see any real problem with 854.

The last comics have rocked, keep up the hard work, and don’t over do it. ^__^ Enjoy the statue PVC’s are the best that you can buy -as you said- without putting them together, I only wish that more statues came like that. >_<

Akumu Sky, the way I imagined it happening was, after the swing, Largo brought the sword forward and lunged. To pull it off against Miho’s character, he’d have had to be quick. Just my thoughts on it.
Mostly I came to post about something I noticed in Shojo Beat; the full color, full page ad for vol 4! Ad looks great but I wonder if you, Fred, were aware that:

YEOW!
these last few strips are getting intense! Emotion, Story, dialouge.
maybe…. just maybe…. ummm….. what was i saying again?
oh well…. hah…. I was just curious on where and what the books are being shiped too? I have never seen any around my area. kinda sad….
OH! I remember now.
I know your focusing on the story more lately… but it seems that some characters have simply dissapeared altogether…. like Dom, Ed, the school kids(forgot there names X_x)and Junpei.
Do you plan on Returning them to the story sometime in the Future? or is this a story based book this time?
dont tell me either….
NO WANT SPOILERS!

Tavicat! S’cool!
I got married and have a baby girl named Satomi.
Fred -
854 and 855 work - that they’re for us and not for Erika is a subtle thing -
Eddie Izzard was in the shop today - Everyone here are such fans …

I suppose this wouldn’t be a good time to point out that HLJ has three new 1/8 PVC figures of Misuzu, Kano, and Minagi available for preorder, then…I’ve been good, and have resisted temptation so far, but then, I only just found out about them this morning, so that’s not saying much.
May 12th, 2006 at 12:29 am
heh.. in the future feel free to delete my one-liners if they no longer make sense after you clean up, Fred
sorry, jintoo - was just remarking about your 5+ duplicate posts.
854/855 — I do sort of wonder how Erika is parsing all of this - whether she’s clued in that this is a gameworld Largo is speaking of and not some highly abstract metaphor (and whether she’ll ever connect Pirogoeth with Piro
)
Its probably not relevant to the general plot though.

Sorry about that. Computer I was using was on the fritz.

Now the Miho-Largo hatred makes much more sense…
