aggregat3 [prelim]
I have taken some of what i’ve learned from coloring with COPIC markers and applied it to my photoshopping efforts. The most notable thing you will see if you look is the layering of a variety of different colors in the hair in particular. All in all, this hasn’t come out too bad, though it does feel a little dark. It’s not done yet. When finished, this will be a new poster design i hope to have available in February.

Yay for learning! I do like the multicolored layering, too much anime lies flat due to color choice imho, but I also like the return to the computer. Your copic work is fun, for certain moody pieces maybe better, but I always enjoyed the contrast between the rougher pencil parts and the smooth cgness in the colors in various older works. To me that contrast boldly says MEGATOKYO. I agree about the too dark, but not everyone would maybe. Thank you very much for sharing your work with us.

The biggest problem with doing Copic versions is loosing some resolution via printing and then scanning things back in. Also, for some reason the scans never catch the vibrancy and subtlety of the copic colorings as well as i would like (i’d probably need a much much better scanner to really get them right)
